Hi, I'm Dave Miller - Founder, Admin, and "doer-of-all-things" for MyHikes. MyHikes is a hiking platform (and personal journal) that I built in 2015 to save my favorite hiking spots and to track my stats. I work on MyHikes for fun by tracking, exploring, writing about trails, nature, and history; writing code / building software and features that help people. All hikes added and published on this account were hiked on foot and written by me. I'm an avid hiker and backpacker with a goal to document my adventures by contributing to MyHikes over the course of my life. I primarily focus on mapping local trails and places that most people don't care to explore. I'm a Pennsylvania Hiker Award recipient (2020) for hiking 500 miles of Pennsylvania's trails (1,095+ miles hiked in PA as of April 2023). In 2023, I officially named two mountains with the USGS that appear on all Federal land maps - Stony Peak & Twin Top Peak in Potter County, Pennsylvania. For my day job I'm a Lead Software Engineer at Salesforce working on Trailhead.com - all opinions are mine and not those of my employer.
