Our Contact Information
This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website (MyHikes.org) or MyHikes app?

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address or other details to help you with your experience.

When do we collect Location data (inclucing Background location)?

If using the MyHikes app, the device may ask to use your location. Location collection and tracking is used to determine where you are on trails found on MyHikes.org. Background tracking, used when the device screen is off or the app is not in the foreground, is used to create your own trails/tracks/hikes on the MyHikes app. Note that the MyHikes app does NOT send your location data off of our device and only the user, while logged-in to their MyHikes.org account on the app, can upload their own track/trail/hike data to the site. The only time your location data is sent to MyHikes' servers is during a GPS track upload.
