Did not see any longhorn sheep unfortunately, but the lakes and views were beautiful. Not a hike but well worth the stop to take-in views or look for wildlife. We did find a herd of elk far out in the meadow.
Hopped on this trail for a random walk thinking maybe we would see some wildlife. Turns out we found at least three elk (if not four) and at least two of them blocked our walk out to the car, so we hiked up to the road and back to parking. Great spot to find wildlife during the early morning or early evening.
Yet another beautiful trail at Rocky Mountain National Park that was unexpectedly awesome. We saw three elk on this hike with one on-trail. The views were nice but the animal sightings were better. Show up in the early morning or evening to potentially find elk, moose, or deer grazing in the valley.
Wasn't sure what to expect but this short trail was stunning - the large waterfall and the views from the trail were unexpected and welcomed for such short mileage.
Bierstadt Lake was beautiful but the hike up the loose rock-filled trail was not fun, especially after hiking 11 miles the previous day. Took our time and went slow but again, the views from the lake were worth it.
