Lovely sunny day. A happy reminder of my husband proposing to me years and years ago. I'm not so anxious to sit at the very edge of the cliffs anymore. On the other hand, I love the man more than I ever.
Amazing sunny day. Did rim to rim to rim, starting from Colton Point side. Waterfalls lovely. Stinging nettle was fun. Waded creek then up Leonard Harrison side. Saw black vulture at the top (seemed to be holding one leg up...injured?) who came to rest right by railing, along with our normal turkey vultures flying around. Sun was brilliant!
Rainy day, soaked through but not too cold. Started on old logging road, then husband led us on the bushwack. Not bad (once you got through mountain laurel) with mostly below knee blueberry and open area with deer trails through it. Tons of little salamanders out in rain.
Love this trail, lots of good memories here. That last headwall always fools me! Beautiful blustery day, with rain threatening. Tons of pollen covering everything. Gypsy moths are bad in this area with lots of detritus on ground. Summit was a relief and beautiful as always.
Out a grassy forestry road which changed to singletrack. Mt laurel about to burst into bloom. Coyote scat, many flipped bear rocks. Trail opened up at overlook into beautiful view where we ate and rested in breeze.
Uphill through woods. Passed stone structure. The summit was a flat lovely area beaming with sun. Walked down through hot dry pine area. Fallen pine tree with lacy inside due to ants. Downhill to end.
Started out downstream of a beaver marshy area. Large cliffish rocks noted. Met another dog hiker so didn't hang out there. Circled around to gasline area, passing a marshy area which transitioned to a beaver pond where dogs enjoyed swim. Finished loop to road.
