This is a trail that my family has hiked for many years now. We came down from the Colton Point side and did the R2R2R. Found a Mavic Air drone in the creek while crossing. That would be a bad day! Hiked up the far side to the lookouts. A grey headed vulture landed not 10 feet from the lookout we were on. A friend told me the grey headed ones aren't native. He caught one on trail cam with a Call-This-Number band. That vulture had flown from Tennessee. On the way back, I almost stepped on a large corn snake on the trail.
Cool old forest road. Hiked this one in the rain. Anybody know what that old piece of metal is in the tree by the grassy clearing? Never realized this was a bushwack. A lot of fun though!
This trail is an old friend. Today 4 fun I carried three rocks up the headwall and placed them at the summit. You may see them, leaning against that tree...
Hiked up the wrong trail... twice :) Lovely winding single track. Interesting stone pile to the left about 0.5 in. Enjoyed walking through the various small red pine and white pine groves.
Walked through a tunnel of small birch trees. Followed the logging road to the rocks. Saw turkey poults on the pipeline. Checked out the beaver dam and pond.
