The trail is not marked but pretty easy to follow (an obvious worn trail). After you explore big rocks, you follow a haul road (Quarry Fire Road) out to a pipeline. This road was pretty wet form the recent rain. make a right onto the pipeline and follow it down until you see the pond on your right. You can meet up with the Quarry Trail just past the pond, this will take you back out to Sand Rd. My dog and I enjoyed exploring the rocks - we made sure we did it before the rattlers come out for the season. It was a chilly spring day with snow flurry's. If you're into birds, there was a great blue heron at the beaver pond.
Hiked with my dog Yukon. The vista was a great view on a perfect spring day. Parked in Blackwell and hopped on the PCRT to get on the trail. Made it to the top and ended up continuing out passed the old radio tower some before heading back.
