Spanish Fork River Trail
The Spanish Fork River Trail at Spanish Fork River Park near Thistle, Utah is an easy 0.5-mile out-and-back hike that features views of the Spanish Fork River including the surrounding cliffs, mountains, and cow pastures.Hike
This short hike begins at the main parking lot for the Spanish Fork River Park, located just south of the campground area but north of the main entrance road. There's a footbridge located on the western side of the parking lot - this is your trailhead. The trail heads across the Spanish Fork River, providing hikers with views of the river and surrounding hills -- during Autumn, this is a nice place to walk to catch the ever-changing foliage. The trail will then make two left-hand turns as it heads uphill slightly to reach a service-road looking trail. Along the way is a water station where you can refill your water bottles.
This track leads down the trail for a short ways before turning back to parking, but along the way hikers will find views of the nearby cliffs, hills, and mountains that surround the Spanish Fork River. There are also cow pastures located to the west side of the trail that often have cows grazing or browsing -- here, you might be able to spot a few, but you might also spook them like we did on our short walk here.
