The Gundigut Trail at Tioga State Forest near Blackwell, Pennsylvania is a moderate 0.9-mile out-and-back trail that runs down a hollow and through a thicket of rhododendron to connect with the West Rim Trail.
This trail really has nothing to see and the hike itself is a bit annoying (as of Oct 2020) because of the overgrown rhododendron that line the trail. This trail is best used to connect with the West Rim Trail.
Pets
Dogs are allowed if leashed.
Parking
Hikers will find a parking turnout across from the trailhead that can accommodate about 5 vehicles.
Backpacking and Camping
Backpackers will find no place to setup a tent along this trail because of the thick rhododendron that litter the forest floor in this part of Tioga State Forest. Camping is technically allowed off-trail, but good luck finding a spot to pitch a tent or hang a hammock. Please follow all state forest rules and regulations when backcountry / primitive / dispersed camping.
