While direct access to the base of 'Opaeka'a Falls and the trail to the base of Wailua Falls are not available, the views are sure to be captivating.

Immerse yourself in Hawaiian heritage with a visit to Poliahu Heiau, an ancient temple dedicated to the war god Ku, easily reached with a short walk and offering panoramic views. For a more reflective experience, take the 0.3-mile trail to the Pohaku Hoohanau and Pohaku Piko birthstones, and continue to a historic Japanese cemetery. Parking for Poliahu Heiau and the birthstones is available in designated turnouts, providing convenient access to these unique cultural sites within Wailua River State Park. Please be mindful of safety hazards at Wailua Falls, and respect all closures to trails.
