'Opaeka'a Falls
'Opaeka'a Falls at Wailua River State Park in Wailua Homesteads, Hawaii (Kauai) is an easy 0.1-mile out-and-back paved/universal access trail that leads to a vista point of Opaekaa Falls.This is not a hike, but rather a short walk along a paved trail that leads to a view of 'Opaeka'a Falls. 'Opaeka'a Falls spills into the Wailua River, but there's not public access that leads to the base of the waterfall, so visitors can appreciate its beauty from this downstream vista.
Parking
Visitors will find a large parking lot at the coordinates provided. The lot is large enough for just over a dozen vehicles.
Restrooms
As of June 2022, there are restroom facilities at the parking lot.
Respecting the Land
Hawaiian land is considered sacred to native Hawaiians and many locals, so please stay on-trail, take nothing but photos, and leave nothing but footprints. Respect the locals - don't stay for long and have a backup hike planned in case the parking lot is full.
