For the more adventurous, the Salmon River Falls Gorge Trail presents a challenging alternative. This strenuous 0.3-mile descent leads to the base of the falls, offering less crowded views. The Gorge Trail is closed during the winter months, except for experienced ice climbers who must sign in and out. Leashed dogs are welcome to join you on both trails.
