Explore the iconic Mt. Monadnock within Monadnock State Park, a premier hiking destination located in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. With several trails leading to its summit, including the challenging White Dot Trail (4.2 miles with a 1700-foot elevation gain), the varied Pumpelly Trail (8 miles out-and-back and considered easier), the rocky White Arrow Trail (5 miles out-and-back) and the Dublin Trail (4.7 miles), hikers of all skill levels can find an adventure. Plan your visit carefully and bring sufficient water, as trails can be steep and demanding.

Before you hit the trails, keep in mind that Monadnock State Park requires a parking fee and dogs are prohibited within the park. The summit of Mt. Monadnock can experience cold and windy conditions, so be prepared regardless of the weather at the base. Some trails, like the Pumpelly Trail, are unmarked and require hikers to rely on a well-worn path and cairns for navigation. Popular trails like the White Dot can get crowded, especially on weekends, so consider weekdays or less-traveled routes for a quieter experience.
