Antietam Lake Park boasts easily accessible waterfalls and historical ruins. Take a short stroll from Antietam Road to marvel at the 30-foot Antietam Lake Falls, remembering to exercise caution around the water due to potential dam releases. Or, venture on a very short 0.1 mile walk to the Seven Step Dam Falls Trail, to find views of the waterfall and fishing spots. For history buffs, the Hinnershitz Dam Ruins Trail leads to the remains of a historical dam, though be aware that the trail and parking area are currently damaged and unmaintained as of April 2025. Despite the challenges, the impressive stonework and historical information are still visible.
