Seven Step Dam Falls Trail

Seven Step Dam Falls Trail at Antietam Lake Park in Reading, Pennsylvania is an easy 0.1-mile walk that leads to the top of the dam waterfall known as Seven Step Dam Falls.

This guide is meant for visitors that simply want to see the waterfall without putting in much legwork. If you wish to take a short 0.8-mile loop hike to the best views of the waterfall, check out our Seven Step Dam Falls Hike guide.

Exploring Seven Step Dam Falls

Despite this not being a hike, visitors will find a dirt trail that leads downhill from the parking lot and ends within ~50-feet or less at the top of Seven Step Dam Falls. The trail leads to the very top of the waterfall but also leads down to the water's edge where you'll find a view of the waterfall from downstream as well. This short trail is also excellent for folks looking to go fishing.

Parking

Visitors will find a small parking turnout at the coordinates provided, located on the west side of Antietam Road. The turnout is large enough to fit about 5 vehicles as of April 2025.

Dogs are allowed if leashed and should be cleaned up after.

  • The Seven Step Dam Falls Trail is a very short (0.1 miles) and easy walk to the top of the Seven Step Dam Falls in Antietam Lake Park, Reading, PA.
  • The trail provides access to views of the waterfall from both the top and the downstream water's edge, and is suitable for fishing.
