Winsor Dam Trail

The Winsor Dam Trail at Quabbin Reservoir in Belchertown, Massachusetts is an easy 1.5 mile out-and-back walk across Quabbin's most popular dam.

The trailheads and parking lots can be found on each end of this trail, but the most popular parking lot can be found on the Belchertown side of the dam next to the state police station. Click here for the Ware parking lot.

The trail is flat the entire way across the dam until you reach the northern end where it dips downhill and passes over the beginning of the Swift River. During the Spring and after heavy rainfalls the northern end of the trail the Swift River has a waterfall that cascades below the bridge.

From Winsor Dam you get unmatched views of Quabbin (maybe other than the Goodnough Dike) along with views of the surrounding hills and valley behind the dam.
