White Trail (Lindsay-Parsons)
The White Trail at Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve in West Danby, New York is an easy 0.4-mile out-and-back trail that features a peaceful woodland setting.Hike Description
This very short trail connects the Yellow Trail at the park to Spencer Road. Note that there's no parking along Spencer Road at this trailhead, so you must park at the main lot further south along the street. This trail doesn't have much to see other than some small wet depressions in the ground that likely were formed by glacial activity, considering the large number of kettle holes found on the property. Some sections of the trail were overgrown and a bit muddy during this hike in June 2023.
Parking
Visitors will find a parking lot at the coordinates provided. It's large enough to fit a half-dozen vehicles or slightly more.
Pets
Dogs are allowed only if leashed and must be cleaned up after.
Warnings
Buggy: This trail can be very buggy during warmer months. The kettle holes, ponds, and stagnant bodies of water help mosquitos, horseflies, and even ticks thrive here.
Poison ivy: This trail tends to have a lot of poison ivy located just off-trail. The path is skinny as well, which makes it easy to accidentally step on the poison ivy as well.
