SGL 208 Pine Creek Trail

The State Game Lands 208 Pine Creek Trail in Gaines, Pennsylvania is a short 0.4-mile out-and-back trail that leads into the game lands open field and over to the edge of Pine Creek.

This trail is a popular fishing and kayaking spot during the Spring, but does not have much to see other than the banks of Pine Creek, hunting fields, and wildflowers throughout the warmer months.

The hunting area here is listed as SGL 208 1A.

Parking
Hikers will find parking is located down a discrete dirt road near the center of Gaines, PA adjacent to a small white home, at the coordinates provided. Red and yellow state game lands signs are usually propped up at the entrance to this road, but the entry road looks like a driveway. The parking lot is large enough to fit several vehicles and accommodates turnaround areas for vehicles with trailers for kayaks and canoes.

Pets
Dogs are allowed. If not hunting, dogs should be on a leash.

Hunting
Hikers should note that hunting is permitted here and should wear orange.

Overgrowth
Since this is a hunting area and not maintained for hiking, there may be plenty of overgrowth after late Spring and into early Fall.
