SCA Trail
This short section of the SCA Trail at the Marin Headlands in Sausalito, California is an easy-to-moderate 0.9 mile one-way hike that leads from the junction of the SCA and Slacker Trail down to Conzelman Road, where the trailhead for the Coastal Trail can be found. This trail was tracked heading from the junction with the Slacker Trail after a hike to the Slacker Ridge Trail lookout point.If you start this hike in the opposite direction, this hike will be moderate-to-difficult since you'll hit plenty of switchbacks heading uphill. If you hike this in the same direction that this was recorded, from the Slacker Trail, your hike will be easy as you gradually hike downhill the entire time.
This trail has plenty of lookout points of the San Francisco Bay area and the Golden Gate Bridge as it runs high above the Marin Highlands' hills. During the Spring you can find plenty of wildflowers growing on the side of the trail too.
Coastal Trail
This is technically part of the Coastal Trail at Marin Headlands. To continue following the Coastal Trail from this one, check out the Coastal Trail (labeled at the southern end trailhead of this recording) and the Slacker Trail (located at the trailhead marked here).
Note
The SCA Trail continues further north for at least another 1 to 1.5 miles from where this trailhead is marked. If you wish to drive to the eastern terminus of this trail, along Conzelman Rd, go to these coordinates.
Parking
A parking lot can be found further south along Conzelman Rd at the next turn in the road at the parking coordinates provided. Hikers will need to walk down Conzelman Road for less than a half-mile to reach the southern trailhead.
