Overlook Trail
The Overlook Trail in Highland Park, Pittsburgh, PA, is a 1 mile one-way hike that brings you up to the north east section of the park. The trail shoots south and loops back onto itself before going north and around to the pool area of Highland Park.
During the fall and winter, you can see the Allegheny River and the lock/dam by the Highland Park bridge, but the overlook is blocked by the trees in the warmer months.
At the end of this trail, near the pool area, you can connect to the Zoo Trail.
Partial trail closer: Please note that the loop portion of this trail, in the southern section, has been closed off for trail restoration. You can still connect to the Lake Grove Trail and you can still hike over to the Zoo Trail; however, the portion that connects the Zoo Trail appears to be open.
