Old Coach Trail to Raptor Ridge

The Old Coach Trail to Raptor Ridge at San Dieguito River Park near Escondido, California is a moderate 4.2-mile out-and-back trail that features views from Raptor Ridge.

Hike Description
This trail is mostly flat until you head up to the viewpoint. Between miles 1.3 and 1.7, the trail follows a fairly steep grade as it heads up to Raptor Ridge. From Raptor Ridge, hikers have a nice views of the valley below. This trail is also part of the Coast to Crest trail network.

Parking
Hikers will find parking at the coordinates provided at the Old Coach Staging Area, which is located 0.25-miles south of the trailhead. The lot is large enough to fit a couple dozen vehicles.

Pets
Dogs are allowed only if they're leashed and their waste should be carried out by the hiker.
