The Northern Mt Tom Range Traverse at Mt Tom State Reservation in Easthampton, Massachusetts is a moderate 4.8 mile loop hike that crosses multiple summits in the park.

The trailhead for the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail is located off of Underwood Ave in Easthampton, MA. From the parking lot, hike down the power lines trail 0.2 miles to a left-hand turn to continue on the M & M trail. From the M & M, this route will take you across the north peaks of the Mt Tom range including Mt Nonotuck (which the Eyrie House Ruins are located on), Dry Knoll and Goat Peak.

Just beyond Goat Peak, there is a split in the trail with the the M & M trail to the right and an unmarked trail to the left, both of which come out on the main park road. If you take the left-hand turn trail you can head north west up the main park road 0.1 miles to the M & M trailhead. From here take a left onto the Dynamite Trail. If you are heading down the M & M trail from Goat Peak, take a right onto the Dynamite Trail.

Follow the Dynamite Trail a short distance to where it merges to the old access road to Mt Nonotuck, from here you can return to Mt Nonotuck via the road or take the John McCool Trail on the left side of the road heading north. This trail runs parallel to the paved road along the John McCool Trail.

This was a great hike! I enjoyed exploring the Eyrie House ruins and the trail was easy to walk onโ€”no bouldering or scrambling required. I missed the cutoff for Dynamite Trail on the way out, so I continued to the Visitor Center, which is why my hike is longer than the OP's. The trailhead on Underwood Avenue is misleading. Although there's a wide, obvious road along the power line, there's a closed gate across it with a "No Trespassing" sign. However, once you get past that sign and enter the forest, there's another sign that says that the property owner has granted an easement for M&M trail hikers.
