Newtown Overlook
The Newtown Overlook at Newtown Battlefield State Park near Elmira, New York is an easy 0.1-mile one-way walk that features a valley view of the mountains surrounding Lowman and Wellsburg, New York.This is not a hike but rather a short walk that leads from a large parking lot, passed the Newtown Battlefield Monument, and over to the large vista/overlook at the park. Walkers can technically drive up to the overlook, but if you wish to make a day hike out of the park, you can leave your vehicle at these parking coordinates and walk to the Newtown Overlook, then hit some trails. From the Newtown Overlook, visitors get views into the Lowman and Wellsburg, NY valley.
Universally Accessible
Note that this exact path is not universally accessible, but if visitors follow the paved entrance road (instead of cutting through the grass), they'll end up at the overlook. The entrance road is fully accessible, but has some small hills that require a bit of work to climb toward the Newtown Battlefield Monument along the way.
