Icebox Cave Trail

The Icebox Cave Trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, OH, is an easy 1.1 mile out-and-back hike to the Icebox Cave along the Ledges Trail.

The trail brings you down to a large rock/cliff path which winds through massive boulders. There is a bat cave within the ledges (Ice Box Cave), which has been blocked off to visitors with a large metal gate in an effort to slow the spread of a disease to the bat population.

The hike starts off at the main parking lot and follows the trail north to a 4-way junction. Take the right-hand turn here to head downhill towards the Ledges Loop Trail. Once you hit the Ledges Loop, take a left-hand turn to head toward Icebox Cave.

Parking
There's a short road that leads to a large parking lot at the end where you can find the trailhead. Google's directions (in the Get Directions link) should get you to the parking lot; however, be sure to look for a brown sign labeled "Ledges" on Kendall Park Rd - this is the road for parking.
