Hamilton Hollow Falls on Cedar Run
Hamilton Hollow Falls on Cedar Run in Tioga State Forest near Cedar Run, Pennsylvania is a difficult 0.2-mile out-and-back off-trail bushwhack that leads to a view of the scenic Hamilton Hollow Falls from the banks of Cedar Run.Hike Description
This is a difficult hike that follows the steep mountain slopes off of Leetonia Road and plunges down to Cedar Run creek. Once on Cedar Run, follow the creek downstream for approximately 350-feet to directly across the creek where Hamilton Hollow Creek flows into Cedar Run. Looking up Hamilton Hollow, hikers will get a view of the 10-foot free falling waterfall, Hamilton Hollow Falls, across the way. Hikers who don't mind getting their feet wet can wade through the knee-high (maybe deeper) Cedar Run to reach Hamilton Hollow for a better view; however, this hike stops on the eastern banks of Cedar Run with the view of Hamilton Hollow Falls before heading back up the steep 92-foot climb back to parking.
Parking
There's no real parking turnout here, but rather a car-width-size parking space on the grass, atop a very very steep mountain slope. There's enough room for a couple of cars to pull-off the road near a telephone pole, at the parking coordinates provided, where hikers can choose any spot to head down the very steep mountain slopes.
