The Emery Trail at Pfeiffer Nature Center's Lillibridge Property in Portville, New York is a moderate 0.5-mile one-way trail that connects the parking area to a handful of trails in the southern section of the park.
This trail, while very close to the parking lot, is one of the more scenic trails in the park due to the wide open fields near the picnic area. During Autumn, the colors of the leaves on the trees in this field, along with a glimpse of mountains in the background, is far more beautiful than expected.
Hikers can use this trail to make a loop around the property to either connect to Griffin's Way to the north or Thornton Thruway to the south. This track begins at southern trailhead and makes its way back to the parking area. Each direction for this hike is considered moderate, but the trail may be more difficult heading south to north than it is north to south.
Along the trail, hikers will pass several other trails at the park including the Chestnut Trail, the Hidden Trail, Pinkster Trail, and Merrick's Run before reaching the Thornton Thruway Trail at the southern terminus.
Parking
Hikers can find parking at the coordinates provided. The parking lot is large enough to fit about 8 large vehicles.
Pets
Dogs are allowed if leashed and their waste must be carried out by the hiker.
Blaze Color
This trail follows white blazes much like the rest of the trails at the Lillibridge Property, which can be confusing.
MyHikes is an indie web platform aimed to make exploring public trails easier for everyone. The site has no investors and is owned and operated by one person, Dave Miller (Founder & Admin). As the Founder, main contributor, and doer-of-all-things for MyHikes, I share my trips with over-detailed write-ups for fun on a volunteer basis and I believe that public trail information should be available to everyone.
It takes a lot of time 🕦, money 💰, and effort (including espresso shots ☕) to run MyHikes, including hiking , mapping , writing , and publishing new trails with high-quality content... along with building new features, moderating, site maintainance, and app development for iOS and Android . I simply ask that if you find MyHikes' trail guides helpful to please consider becoming a Supporter to help keep the site, iOS, and Android apps available to everyone.
