This walk begins with a picturesque stroll through the ancient heart of Vezio. As you leave the parking area on Via per Vezio, you’ll immediately be immersed in the quiet, historic streets of this quaint Italian village. Follow the signs for Castello di Vezio as you pass homes and small local shops. A noteworthy sight on your walk is the 13th-century old Chiesa di Sant'Antonio Abate, a must-see piece of local history. As you approach the castle, your first stop will be Il Ristoro del Castello to purchase an entry ticket. As of September 2025, the Castello di Vezio entrance fee is 7 Euro per adult. The courtyard itself is a peaceful area, featuring native trees like olive and pomegranates, and a small turret near the southwest corner offering additional medieval displays and views from the portholes. Visitors who plan to drive to Castello di Vezio will find a parking lot at the coordinates provided (46.010335, 9.291196). As of September 2025, the parking lot was large enough to fit less than 20 vehicles. For visitors to Lake Como who have never drive through these old village before, you will want to plan on driving through very skinny streets and steep mountain roads with tight switchbacks.
