Blue Blaze Trail
The Blue Blaze Trail at the Reed Conservation Area in Belchertown, Massachusetts is a short 1.4 mile out-and-back hike from the southern section of the conservation area up to Knight's Pond and back. Parking for the Reed Conservation Area can be found on Gold Street at the coordinates provided and is located across the street from Trillium Way in Belchertown.The trail is mostly flat, with a short downhill section at the beginning that leads to a small pond with a couple of picnic tables at the pond. Once you reach the picnic tables, take a right to follow the blue blazes. You'll eventually reach an intersection where the blue blazes turn right one more time - follow the blazes to reach Gold Street again, just south of Knight's Pond. You can hike back on the road, the Blue Blaze trail, or the Red Blaze Trail to make the trip a total of about 1.4 to 1.5 miles depending on which way you go. If you hike back on the Blue Blaze Trail, you can take a small short-cut on the Orange Blaze Trail to save a couple of minutes; however, the Orange Blaze Trail will likely be wet during most seasons and icy in the winter.
