Barred Owl Trail

The Barred Owl Trail at the Highland Farm Preserve in York, Maine is an easy 0.4-mile out-and-back trail that leads to an old cemetery from the 1800s along with an obstructed, likely seasonal, vista labelled "overlook" on the main park map.

This trail begins about 100-feet from the end of the Field Trail and heads north along a fairly skinny path. The trail eventually curves around with a view of a field and a private residence in the distance. Shortly after that is an old cemetery with several family members from the 1800s with the last name Kingsbury. Just above the cemetery is a small overlook, with nothing to see during the warmer months as the view is blocked by the trees; however, there might be a seasonal winter overlook here. It's also possible that his overlook is very old and hence, has been grown-in over the years.

The trail then continues heading north - passing up and over an old stone wall - before ending at the Kingsbury Trail.
