The Ship Harbor Trail at Acadia National Park, near Bar Harbor, Maine is an easy 1.3 mile loop hike along the coast of Acadia and through a coniferous forest in the park. The trail has various points where you can exit to head down to the ocean, where you can fish (with a state license), or soak up the views of Acadia's coastline. The water runs a deep blue mixed with greens and often looks like tropical waters, but the water temperature along the coast is quite frigid.

This is a great trail for a day hike and is located within a few miles of Acadia campgrounds; however, this section of Acadia is a bit further away from Bar Harbor and other attractions at Acadia like the Beehive and Cadillac Mountain.

MyHikes is an independently-owned platform aimed to make exploring public trails easier for everyone. The site has no investors and is owned and operated by one person, Dave / Admin. We share trails, hikes, and backpacking trips on the interwebs for the fun of it and put a ton of time into mapping and writing about new trails to publish each month.

It takes a lot of time 🕦, money 💰, and effort (including espresso shots ☕) to run MyHikes. We simply ask that if you find our content helpful or useful when planning your next adventure that you consider making a small donation to help keep the site running.

You can become a Supporter* (*MyHikes user account required) to unlock perks for as little as $0.83/month with a 1-time non-recurring payment 😎 Or you can simply Donate any amount without a MyHikes user account. Otherwise, telling your friends about MyHikes or poking around the site to view ads is the next-best thing to a donation - both quick and free 😄

Thanks for visiting MyHikes and have a great hike! ✌
