About Mount Diablo State Park

Whether you're an experienced trekker or an avid nature enthusiast, Mount Diablo offers an unforgettable outdoor experience. Discover iconic landmarks such as the Mount Diablo Summit and Eagle Peak, offering stunning views after a challenging 13.5-mile loop hike with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain. Parking is available at the Mitchell Canyon Interpretive Center for a $6 fee.

For a similarly strenuous adventure, conquer Mount Olympia and North Peak on an 11.3-mile loop trail, also within Mount Diablo State Park. This challenging hike climbs 3,000 feet, rewarding you with spectacular views from both summits. Be prepared for a mix of wide fire roads and steep, narrow single-track footpaths, and remember to bring a map for navigation. Free parking is available at the end of Regency Drive in Clayton, providing convenient access to this unforgettable hiking experience. Note that dogs are prohibited on these trails, so plan accordingly.
