Explore the gorge's unique geological formations on a 1.1-mile one-way journey past cascading waterfalls, including the chance to walk behind the breathtaking Cascade Falls and Rainbow Falls. Keep in mind that the Gorge Trail is seasonally closed from November to May due to icy conditions, and dogs and bikes are not allowed on this particular trail. A minimal entry fee is required for parking within the park.

Plan your visit to Watkins Glen State Park with your furry friend in mind! The South Parking to Watkins Glen Gorge Trail provides access to the main gorge from the south entrance with a 0.8-mile out-and-back hike and connections to the Indian Trail. For a quieter experience with scenic overlooks, explore the 1-mile Indian Trail, which connects the east and west ends of the gorge and offers stunning views of Rainbow Falls and Central Falls. Dogs are welcome on both the South Parking Trail and the Indian Trail, but please remember that they are prohibited on the Watkins Glen Gorge Trail to protect the delicate environment. Remember, biking is not permitted on the Indian Trail.
