The Van Horn Reservoir Trail at Van Horn Park in Springfield, Massachusetts is an easy 0.5-mile out-and-back trail that runs along the reservoir in the southern section of the park.

This short paved trail can be accessed best from Cunningham Street. The trail crosses a small dike before turning back to parking. The pavement provides three options: a paved trail to the water intake near the middle of the dike, the upper route across the top of the dike, and lower route across the bottom of the dike. The upper and lower routes meet at both ends, the intake path leads to the intake and ends.

Parking: There are no official parking lots at this trailhead, but you can park at the main Van Horn Park lot at the coordinates provided. You must cross Armory Street and either walk down Chapin Terrace to Colfax Street to reach the eastern trailhead, or Cunningham Street to reach the western trailhead. There are trails leading from Armory Street that appear to come out near the Cunningham entrance.

MyHikes is an indie web platform aimed to make exploring public trails easier for everyone. The site has no investors and is owned and operated by one person, Dave Miller (Founder & Admin). As the Founder, main contributor, and doer-of-all-things for MyHikes, I share my trips with over-detailed write-ups for fun on a volunteer basis and I believe that public trail information should be available to everyone.

It takes a lot of time 🕦, money 💰, and effort (including espresso shots ☕) to run MyHikes, including hiking , mapping , writing , and publishing new trails with high-quality content... along with building new features, moderating, site maintainance, and app development for iOS and Android . I simply ask that if you find MyHikes' trail guides helpful to please consider becoming a Supporter to help keep the site, iOS, and Android apps available to everyone.
