Van Horn Reservoir Trail
The Van Horn Reservoir Trail at Van Horn Park in Springfield, Massachusetts is an easy 0.5-mile out-and-back trail that runs along the reservoir in the southern section of the park.This short paved trail can be accessed best from Cunningham Street. The trail crosses a small dike before turning back to parking. The pavement provides three options: a paved trail to the water intake near the middle of the dike, the upper route across the top of the dike, and lower route across the bottom of the dike. The upper and lower routes meet at both ends, the intake path leads to the intake and ends.
Parking: There are no official parking lots at this trailhead, but you can park at the main Van Horn Park lot at the coordinates provided. You must cross Armory Street and either walk down Chapin Terrace to Colfax Street to reach the eastern trailhead, or Cunningham Street to reach the western trailhead. There are trails leading from Armory Street that appear to come out near the Cunningham entrance.
