The Tower Trail at the Devil's Tower National Monument, in Devils Tower Wyoming is an amazing 1.5 mile hike that encompasses the entirety of Devil's Tower. This is the most popular trail at the Devil's Tower National Monument and for good reason. From the Tower Trail you get to see all of the different rock formations along the sides of the monument along with amazing expansive views outward from the back of the trail.

The trailhead can be found across the parking area from the visitors center. The trail is paved and mostly flat, so it's an easy and accessible hike. You'll pass through a ponderosa pine forest and massive boulder fields along the base of Devil's Tower. Rock climbing is permitted to experienced climbers with a permit, so you may even see rock climbers on the monument while hiking this trail.

Along the trail are small pieces of colorful cloth that hang from the trees. These are Native American prayer cloths, and represent the spiritual connection many tribes have with the Tower. Please do not touch, disturb or remove these prayer cloths and some consider it culturally insensitive to photograph these prayer cloths.

Note: pets are not allowed on trails at the Devil's Tower National Monument.

MyHikes is an indie web platform aimed to make exploring public trails easier for everyone. The site has no investors and is owned and operated by one person, Dave Miller (Founder & Admin). As the Founder, main contributor, and doer-of-all-things for MyHikes, I share my trips with over-detailed write-ups for fun on a volunteer basis and I believe that public trail information should be available to everyone.

It takes a lot of time 🕦, money 💰, and effort (including espresso shots ☕) to run MyHikes, including hiking , mapping , writing , and publishing new trails with high-quality content... along with building new features, moderating, site maintainance, and app development for iOS and Android . I simply ask that if you find MyHikes' trail guides helpful to please consider becoming a Supporter to help keep the site, iOS, and Android apps available to everyone.

Supporters unlock website and in-app perks with a one-time payment of $25 (you renew) 😎👍. Or you can simply make a Donation of your choice without a MyHikes user account. Otherwise, telling your friends about MyHikes is the next-best thing - both quick and free 🎉

Thanks for visiting MyHikes and have a great hike!️
