Tioga River Spillway Trail

The Tioga Lake Spillway Trail at the Tioga-Hammond Lakes Recreation Area is an easy 0.4-mile out-and-back trail that follows the downstream channel of the Tioga River as it spills out of the Tioga Lake dam.

This short and flat trail is mostly popular among local fisherman, but the loosely-defined trail that runs along Tioga River here is a nice walk along the water.

Parking
Hikers can find parking at the coordinates provided. The lot is large enough to fit about one dozen vehicles.

Fishing
Fishing is permitted given you have an in-state or out-of-state PA fishing license. Fisherman should be warned that signage at the parking area indicates that water can be released from the dam at any time with no prior warning, so fish in the river at your own risk.

Kayak Launch
This trail also has a kayak launch located directly across from the parking lot.

Pets
Dogs are allowed if leashed and their waste must be carried out.

Accommodations
Visitors can find a restroom at the end of this road, next to the Hammond Lake Overlook.
