Redwood Nature Trail

The Redwood Nature Trail at Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest in Brookings, Oregon is an easy 1-mile loop trail that features massive ancient Redwood trees and a waterfall.

The hike begins by climbing through a lush forest of Douglas-fir and huckleberry bushes, with moss hanging from the trees and a creek cascading downhill alongside the trail. The trail then begins the loop and eventually reaches a ravine with a creek flowing below - this is the most scenic part of the hike with massive Redwood trees towering overhead and the sound of the rushing creek.

The trail then passes another ravine to a grove of darker Redwoods and a few old-growth trees. The loop finally ends near the waterfall by the creek at the beginning of the hike.

Pets: Dogs are allowed if leashed and their waste must be carried out by the hiker.

Other hikes: While in the area, check out the Riverview Nature Trail at Alfred A. Loeb State Park - the northern trailhead can be found across the street from this trail and adds an additional 1.5-miles to your day hike.
