Point Saint George Loop Trail

The Point Saint George Loop Trail in Crescent City, California is a moderate 0.7-mile trail that passes through sand dunes and features views of the coastline.

This trail is moderate to difficult, despite its short length, due to the steep uphill and downhill climbs through the dunes. Also keep in mind that hiking along sand is more difficult than gravel or pavement, so give yourself additional time to hike this trail.

This hike begins on the northern section of the parking lot and follows the trail north approximately 0.15-miles to reach the coastline. From here, the trail follows the coast, west and south, for 0.3-miles before ending and heading back.
At the turnaround, you'll hike for approximately 0.1-miles on the same trail heading north, but you'll take a right-hand turn to head east back to parking (see the out-and-back section in the trail map).

Parking: Parking can be found at the coordinates provided. The parking lot is large with plenty of parking spaces.

Pets: Dogs are allowed if leashed and their waste must be carried out by the hiker.

Archeological area: Point Saint George is a protected archeological area. If you see any artifacts, do not touch them. If you see anyone tampering or looting artifacts, call 911 and alert the authorities.
