Northmoreland Park Lake Trail
The Northmoreland Park Lake Trail at Northmoreland Park in Apollo, Pennsylvania is an easy 1.1 mile loop hike that loops around Northmoreland Park Lake. The trail is a flat brick walkway that gives views of the lake as you hike around it, except for the southern shores.On the southern shore of the lake, the trail runs through a wooded area for about 0.3 miles or so with benches and at least one small trail that leads down to the lake's shore.
Northmoreland Park Lake is a popular recreation area that also allows fishing and kayaking. For kayaking, you must park at the designated boat launch parking lot for the park. Live bait vending machines can be found at some of the buildings on the north side of the lake as well.
Water source: During warmer months, there are water fountains along the north shore of the lake.
Parking: Parking for the trailhead can be found at the parking lot at the junction of Markle Rd and Park Rd. You can also park along the western shore of the lake on Grossheim Rd.
