Miners Trail

The Miners Trail at Greenhorn Park in Yreka, California is an easy 1.2-mile one-way trail that runs the length of the park from west to east and also features historic gold mining equipment and ghost town.

This recording begins at the trail junction with the Big Ditch Trail and heads east, passing the Veterans Memorial Trail and Greenhorn Reservoir before ending just beyond the parking lot along Ranch Lane.

The trail substrate is gravel and the trail can be narrow in places, so it is not fully accessible.

History: Yreka was once a popular gold mining location in 1851 and old gold mining machinery and a small ghost town can be found along this trail. You can read more about Yreka history here.

Pets: Dogs are allowed if leashed and their waste must be carried out by the hiker.

Parking: Parking can be found at the coordinates provided at the end of Ranch Lane in Yreka at the eastern trailhead; however, you can also park here: 41.712610, -122.656665.
