Mill Beach Trail
The Mill Beach Trail at Mill Beach is a short 0.3-mile unmarked trail in Brookings, Oregon that features views of the ocean and Oregon's rugged coastline, with the potential for a very-risky uphill climb with even better views. This trail, in low tide, leads up to a beautiful lookout point on top of a massive rock off the shore. Unfortunately, the risk of making the initial climb up the trail seemed unwise to do alone, because of the risk factor. There is, however, a clear and defined trail that leads uphill and features spectacular views from the top. I do plan to come back and finish this hike someday to update the data, unless someone comes back first!
This recording will lead you out to the beginning of the uphill climb, next to the western end of Mill Beach. The uphill climb is not shown in the map.
Pets: Dogs are allowed if leashed and their waste must be carried out by the hiker. Pets should be kept off of the risky sections of the trail to keep hikers and their companions safe.
Warnings: This hike is dangerous if you decide to hike up the hillside to the lookout point above (GPS track not shown in the data). Watch your step, take it slow, and hike at your own risk.
