Lost Lake via Lost Lake Trail

Lost Lake via Lost Lake Trail at Larrabee State Park near Chuckanut, Washington is a difficult 9.3-mile out-and-back trail that features a beautiful waterfall and terminates at Lost Lake.

Trails
This hike follows a named road and named trail: Fragrance Lake Rd, Lost Lake Trail.

Hike Description
The South Lost Lake Trail is technically ~5-mile out-and-back, but hikers must first walk 2.1-mile along Fragrance Lake Rd to reach the trailhead. At first this may seem like a bit of a let down, but the trek up the windy road is one of the best parts about this hike. Nearly everywhere you look is green, a forest of sword ferns, moss-draped cedars and hemlocks. About halfway to the trailhead is the first, and perhaps most impressive of the waterfalls. Next is a fork in the road, follow the signs for Fragrance Lake, which leads to the official trailhead. Most of the South Lost Lake trail is uneventful. The muddy trail climbs consistently for the first 1.5-miles through the trees with only a few peeks of Bellingham Bay. After reaching the hike's high-point, the trail descends to Lost Lake, the destination of the out-and-back hike.
