Klickitat Canyon Overlook

The Klickitat Canyon Overlook is an easy 0.8-mile out-and-back trail that features a stunning vista and short hike.

This is a very short trail that takes you to an impressive overlook of the Klickitat Canyon in southwest Washington.

At a large bend in the Glenwood Highway, the viewpoint is signed. Pull off onto the dirt road. Park anywhere along the dirt road if you have low clearance, or take the narrow rutted dirt road at the T intersection to get to the large parking area. From there, find the obvious trail heading down to an overlook, surrounded by chain link fencing. Take in the views of two merging canyons, the Klickitat River, and Mount Adams peeking above the west rim. Outlet Creek to the left winds down its own separate canyon and empties into the Klickitat River below, as well.ย

Follow the narrow trail to the right (east) along the canyon rim for a bit for some limited views of another part of the canyon, with some minor exposure. There's wooden fencing provided in the worst exposure areas.ย

Warning
There might be poison oak here, and there definitely are rattlesnakes. Use caution.
