Kiahuna Beach Trail
The Kiahuna Beach Trail in Koloa, Hawaii (Kauai) is an easy 0.6-mile out-and-back trail that features access to Kiahuna Beach and follows the southern shoreline with views of the coast. This is more of a stroll along a paved path and not a hike. Note that the paved section of the path does not connect to the parking lot, thus is not a universal access trail unless starting within the Sharton Resort. The Kiahuna Beach Trail begins at the public parking lot located near the dead end of Hoonani Rd, just east of the Sheraton Resort. Along the trail, walkers will find naupaka growing between the trail and the ocean, providing a lush barrier between the crashing waves. Just 0.3-miles down the trail, it ends at another public parking lot for the Sheraton Resort. The trail also serves as a nice spot to watch the sunset without having to walk very far.
Parking
Parking can be found at the coordinates provided at the public parking lot, just east of the Sheraton Resort along Hoonani Rd in Koloa. Respecting the Land
Hawaiian land is considered sacred to native Hawaiians and many locals, so please stay on-trail, take nothing but photos, and leave nothing but footprints. Respect the locals - don't stay for long and have a backup hike planned in case the parking lot is full.
