Kanei'olouma Heiau

Kanei'olouma Heiau in Koloa, a part of the Koloa Heritage Trail, is an easy 0.1-mile out-and-back walk that leads to the Kanei'olouma Heiau (temple) and features a plethora of historical information about native Hawaiians, their use of this temple, and local historians who've spent decades preserving the history.

This is not a hike and barely a walk, but rather a quick stop to explore an ancient Hawaiian temple, learn about history, and how the temple was once used.

Parking
Visitors will find parking turnouts near the coordinates provided - located on either side of Hoowili Road in Koloa.

Pets
Dogs are allowed if leashed and visitors must pick up after them.

Respecting the Land
Hawaiian land is considered sacred to native Hawaiians and many locals, so please stay on-trail, take nothing but photos, and leave nothing but footprints. Respect the locals - don't stay for long and have a backup hike planned in case the parking lot is full.
