Hecla Gap

Hecla Gap in Mingoville, Pennsylvania is an easy  3.5-mile out and bike hike that runs along scenic Little Fishing Creek.

Hike Description
This hike starts just past Nittany Country Club. It follows a dirt road (Hecla Rd) for about a mile. The road is gated at about the 1/2 mile mark of the hike. After a mile, the dirt road climbs up to a water tower, and a single track trail splits off to the left. Follow the single track trail. The first 30 yards or so is always very wet, but it gets better after that. The trail winds back through Hecla Gap along the creek and through abundant rhododendrons. Eventually the trail comes out at a washed out bridge on Greens Valley Rd. This is the turn-around point for this out and back hike.
