Hardenburgh Falls

Hardenburgh Falls near Roxbury, New York is an easy 0.2-mile out-and-back hike that leads to the 20-foot tall waterfall, Hardenburgh Falls.

Hike Description
This hike begins along Intake Road, on the north side of the bridge at the coordinates provided and follows the main trail located behind the large metal gate. Hikers will notice, within 100-feet or less, a skinny trail that heads towards the water - take this right-hand turn to reach the waterfall. Note that there's a small ledge scramble, about 5-feet tall, in between the waterfall and the trail - in addition to plenty of poison ivy growing on this ledge during warm months.

At the base of the ledge, hikers will find Hardenburgh Falls as it cascades over the bedrock at about 20-feet tall. Below the cascade is a large pool of water, likely a great fishing hole - permits required.

Hiking out is easy, despite the 5-foot rock ledge. The challenging part is dodging the poison ivy on your way in or out.
