The Hillside Trail in Forbes State Forest, is a great moderate 2.6 mile out-and-back hike through the Roaring Run natural area.

This trip is mostly uphill the whole way, but it's not very steep, so the hike back is fairly quick heading downhill. You walk in and out of different types of forests through the length of this trail.
