The Fish Dam Run Vista at Sproul State Forest
near Renovo, Pennsylvania is a scenic overlook that has a panoramic view of the mountain tops within the Russell P. Letterman Wild Area and Bucktail Natural Area.
This
vista has short trail that hikers can follow that goes along the crest of the viewing embankment. Visitors can also meander around grassy fields, to take pictures from the different vantage points or make use of the picnic areas located near the parking area. This
recording is about 0.2-miles long, but visitors
will not need to walk far to get a great view.
Parking
Hikers
will find parking at the coordinates provided just a short distance from PA State Highway 144, also know as Breeze Avenue.
The lot is large enough to hold a dozen vehicles with some amenities
including trail maps and a informational kiosk, and a restroom, and also serves as
access parking for the several hiking trails in the area. These include the Drake Hollow Trail and Chuck Keiper Trail via the East Branch Connector Trail which are designed for foot traffic only (blazed orange). Camping is not permitted at the Fish Dam Run Vista. Backpackers are allowed to camp within the Sproul
State Forest. Backpackers need to follow the state forest rules and
regulations for dispersed / primitive / back-country camping.
Road Conditions & Winter Maintenance The road that leads to this overlook is a gravel road and may not have any winter maintenance. And, the restroom appears to be seasonal, and might not be open in the winter.

Dogs are allowed if leashed.
