This shorter section of the Compton Peak East/West trail only goes about 0.6 miles in before we turned back, but this is a 2.4 mile out-and-back trail with a viewpoint and columnar rock features which we didn't get to. Follow the Appalachian Trail (white blazes). to the 'T' intersection. Refer to the attached map picture for more details.
