Colonial Lake Loop
The Colonial Lake Loop in Charleston, South Carolina is an easy universally-accessible 0.5-mile loop trail that encompasses a tidal pond known as Colonial Lake.This is not a hike but rather a flat walk that follows the paved and universally accessible trail that circles Colonial Lake. The tidal pond was renamed Colonial Lake in 1881 but was once referred to as Rutledge Street Pond or "The Pond" prior.
Universal Access
This pathway is universally accessible as of March 2024. The path is paved (i.e. cement) with a smooth surface. Entering the park via a universally accessible sidewalk can be found closer to the corners of the park, not at the trailhead provided in this guide.
Parking
Walkers will find plenty of parking opportunities along the streets that encompass the park, except Broad Street which has no parking.
Pets
Dogs are allowed only if leashed and must be cleaned up after.
