Archery Trail

The Archery Trail at Ives Run Recreation Area near Middlebury Township, Pennsylvania is an easy 1.4-mile loop trail that features about 18 different archery targets.

The trail begins behind the Stephenhouse picnic shelter and follows the bridge crossing a creek before the trail heads uphill. This short uphill climb includes plenty of large roots and ruts, so watch your step. Not long after hikers will reach a trail junction - the continuation of the Archery Trail takes a right-hand turn at this first junction.

Just after the first junction, the Archery Trail will have its first target. Hikers will continue and take a left-hand turn to continue on towards other targets.

The trail eventually creates a loop onto itself at target #5. The recording here takes a right-hand turn and documents the targets in numerical order before looping back to target #5. Each target has a different number where shooters should stand, assuming this is a measurement in yards, the measurements are roughly between 15 and 45 yards. The longer-range targets can be found in the higher numbers, so take a left-hand turn at the loop to reach the longer-range targets quicker.

After making the loop, this recording heads out the same way in along the yellow blazes, across the bridge, and back to the picnic shelter to complete the 1.4-mile hike.
